OLEG ARYUTKIN
I was born in Ul'yanovsk, the USSR, in the family of musicians. I've grown surrounded
by the atmosphere of arts, classical music, and classical rock.
My parents, who are both professional music teachers and players, nearly forced
me to attend music classes at the age of eight (the piano class in State of Mordovia
School of Music). The home of mine was always full with musical instruments of different
kinds, so it was really hard for me to make my choice. I also tried studying classical
guitar in the Ul'yanovsk State Music School (not giving up my piano, of course).
By day when my family moved to Israel I still wasn't sure if I were going to choose
piano, or guitar, or any other instrument.
My introduction to the world of rock'n'roll at the age of fourteen or thirteen brought
me a new inspiration, and I almost chose the guitar as my primary instrument. But
the luck was on my side, and it placed a Deep Purple album into my stereo
system. The wonderful sound of Hammond B3 organ struck my head like a lighting -
the decision was made.
In the year 2001 (I'm not quite sure about the date) I was asked to play keyboards
in a local hard rock band. The day it happened opened a new page in my life - I
found out that there is no nicer thing than communicating with other people via
my fingertips.
In the year 2002 I bought myself a first real synthesizer. By that time I was seriously
in love with metal. Developing my synthesis skills brought me to listening to keyboard
-involved metal styles (although I still love Ozzy) and bands like Children of Bodom,
Dimmu Borgir, Freedom Call, et cetera.
In april 2004 I gladly accepted the invitation to join Desert and try myself
as a power metal keyboard player.
